So apparently, there may be a certain subset of the non-neurotypical population (if you know who I mean) that have a delayed switching mechanism between hemispheres of the brain. One theory. Certainly interesting in that it shows up consistently during episodes or not. Another interesting theory is a genetic abnormality that may cause abnormalities in the proper transfer of acetylcholine to glial cells in the prefrontal cortex. Interesting. Also, a strong correlation between early onset and creativity, followed by a decline in this type of creativity as the degenerative damage takes hold. Yay. Oh, and other also-rans include nitric oxide signaling and of course my personal favorite - mercury poisoning from mercury fillings somehow migrating to the thyroid. Uh-huh.
